Our Story

In 2006 after nearly a decade in ministry to youth and young adults, Pastor Mykal and Amanda experienced something that would forever change their lives and their path in ministry. That “something” was a life-giving church. It was a place where imperfect people could learn how to follow a perfect savior in community together.

It was during their five years at Celebration Church in Jacksonville, FL that they felt God calling them to plant a life-giving church in the Newark, DE area. After much prayer, counsel, and training from Celebration and The Association of Related Churches, their family moved to the area in late 2010 and immediately went to work building a team of people who shared their vision for a life-giving church in the region.

Today hundreds of people have experienced True Life Church services, events and small groups, and we continue to see growth on a weekly basis. God is at work at True Life. We invite you to see for yourself how exciting church can be when the focus is simple and people are free to go after God with passion!

Our vision is based on Colossians 1:28. We believe God’s plan for every person at True Life is to experience these four things:

Our Purpose

Our purpose is simple and based on the Great Commission found in Mark 16:15-20.We exist to lead people into a life-giving relationship with Jesus Christ and to become fully devoted followers of him.

Plan A Visit

Each weekend at True Life Church, you’ll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with fresh, energetic music, an outline for notes, and digital presentations to help you make the most of the practical and relevant message.

We offer creative, exciting programs for children from birth – 5th grade during each service. Our Kids Life team members teach biblical values that will help your child build a strong foundation of faith to grow on. We have four distinct areas for children: nursery (0 to 12 months), tots (1 to 2 years), preschool & kindergarten, and elementary school (1st to 5th grade).

If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” and that’s fine with us!

Services start at 9am and 10:30am every Sunday. Come on in and grab a free cup of coffee, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and see if this is the church for you.

At True Life Church, there is no dress code. We believe God cares more about the condition of your heart than your outward appearance. Feel free to dress up, or come in jeans and your favorite t-shirt, whatever makes you comfortable.
